MobiMed – a system that you can rely on
Earlier this year we visited the ambulance service in Region Norrbotten to learn more about their daily operations. Region Norrbotten is Sweden’s northernmost and largest region covering a quarter of Sweden’s total area. With its varied environment with archipelago as well as high mountains, large forests and marches, the ambulance service in Norrbotten faces unique challenges.
The air ambulance in the region is working as a mobile intensive care unit, providing the same level of care as an in-hospital ICU unit. This is crucial during long distance flights and pick-ups at places that are hard to reach. The day-to-day life in the ambulance service is incredibly varied but the mission is always to provide the patient with the best possible care. To be able to share patient information and communicate in real time throughout the care chain is vital to obtain an efficient and safe care.
