ORTIVUS HAS BEEN SELECTED AS PREFERRED BIDDER FOR PREHOSPITAL CARE BY THE SOUTH WESTERN AMBULANCE SERVICE TRUST (SWAST)

Ortivus has been selected as the preferred bidder to deliver its prehospital MobiMed electronic patient care record (“ePCR”) system by the South West Ambulance Service Trust (SWAST). The fully managed MobiMed service includes delivery of ePCR software, hardware and 24/7 support and shall be implemented throughout the Trust which handles over 80,000 patient calls per month and has approximately 600 vehicles. The total value of the order is £8.5M. Installation is expected to start during 2020 and the agreement is valid over a five-year period with an option to extend by up to two years.

The award was made following completion of an OJEU procurement process led by SWAST which was open to all suppliers and this evaluation provides further evidence of the comprehensive product and service offering that Ortivus’ MobiMed solution delivers, meeting the high demands of a modern ambulance service trust.” said Reidar Gårdebäck, CEO for Ortivus UK.

Ortivus has been working with SWAST to provide their MobiMed solution as a fully managed ePCR service since contract signature in 2013, where they also provide their MobiMed Vital Signs Monitoring (VSM) solution enabling live streaming of patient vital signs including 12-lead ECG to all regional hospitals. The initial contract was for a period of 4 years and subsequently extended to the maximum length of 6 years.

South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust are pleased to be working with Ortivus as the preferred supplier on the next generation of electronic patient care records service. Following a rigorous procurement process, the Trust looks forward to the deployment of new software and devices though the contract to the benefit of patients and SWAST colleagues across the greater South West of England.” said Tim Bishop, Executive Director of IM&T for SWAST.

Planning for the new solution shall begin this year, with system commissioning of the new solution scheduled to start in 2020.
