EDS-H (Excense Decision Support Healthcare) is a stand-alone software solution that can be used together with various software applications like electronic patient records. Its purpose is to continuously monitor data-input and to trigger on pre-defined conditions within a defined data-set like a data-base. It can easily be configured by an administrator or “process owner” to monitor user-defined combinations of data. When activated it can send a message in a standard format to an external application, or just store the incident together with selected information for future use and analysis.
Apart from being a stand-alone solution EDS-H is an integrated part of Hjärtjournalen, where it for instance repeatedly monitors that the user follows proposed guidelines on medication based on actual patient status. If there is a mismatch between actual dataset and the guideline, the user will be notified and either correct and comply with the guideline or actively report why the proposed guideline isn’t followed.
