More about MobiMed

MobiMed is adaptable to, and facilitates, existing organisational processes of emergency care. It provides an important link in the healthcare chain from front-line contact with the patient on the emergency site to the discharge of the patient.

The MobiMed concept consists of two parts: The Patient Unit which is used at emergency sites and in ambulances, and the Clinical Workstation, placed in hospitals, command centers and at ambulance headquarters. The Patient Unit is a mobile unit, which enables data to be sent from ambulance to hospital in real time. The Clinical Workstation is designed for on-line consultation and patient information management. It enables the hospital team to assist the paramedics on-line with recommendations for treatment and to direct the ambulance to the most suitable hospital triage and ward. The transmitted information can be used for follow-up and may be exported to other systems and applications. The Patient Unit and the Clinical Workstation form a scalable, compatible and complete tool for accurate and reliable pre-hospital diagnosis, decision support, documentation and assessment.

Accuracy obtained by continuous transmission of data

The data available in the Patient Unit can be viewed on the Client Workstation at the hospital. Continuous transmission of data enables hospital staff to monitor any changes in the patient’s condition, that may not be revealed in a single ECG-measurement and to make appropriate decisions, while saving precious time.

Secure and reliable triage and communication

High quality monitoring of vital signs such as blood pressure, 12-lead ECG, pulse rate, oxygen saturation and EtCO2 enables ambulance and hospital staff to make a secure pre-diagnosis, ensuring that the patient gets the right care at the right time.

User-friendly hardware and interface

Patient care in the ambulance environment is demanding and time critical. The MobiMed products are the result of a close collaboration between Ortivus and ambulance and hospital personnel, to develop a robust and practical tool that facilitates ease, speed and quality in treating patients. Hardware and interfaces are intuitive and easy to use, enabling ambulance staff to keep the focus on the patient.

Modular and compatible solutions prepared for future demands

MobiMed’s modular approach enables emergency services to tailor their systems according to specific situations and to expand the systems as needed. MobiMed is based on standard operating systems, hardware and databases in order to facilitate future development.

Efficient evaluation and assessment

A large amount of information is collected in the acute phase. The information is stored in the Clinical Server, which easily can be integrated with other healthcare systems, such as mobile data dispatching systems, hospital information systems, hospital ECG-databases, as well as the CoroNet system, Ortivus’ system for cardiac monitoring.
